I Bet They're Ripe

One of the first things I did when we moved to Phoenix was plant fruit trees. Orange. Lemon. Lime.

I had this fantasy that it would be our forever home, and some day these beautiful trees would not only provide privacy, but also we’d enjoy their abundant fruit!

I snapped this pic right before we loaded in the car for Kansas. Not quite having experienced a harvest.

I bet you they’re ripe right now.

Sometimes it feels like we put in all the hard years, all the labor, enduring all the tilling & toiling, and don’t quite make it to the harvest.

It’s Holy Saturday, and that’s where I’m going to let this thought linger unfinished. Resting in this liminal space after death and before resurrection.
