Climbing Down the Mountain

One year ago we climbed down our favorite trail and learned that the world was shutting down. Later that afternoon I would discover that my marriage was in fact over. And we legitimately were out of toilet paper.

If only I could return to that day, I would tell myself just how strong I really am. Within 7 weeks our life in Phoenix was packed up, and the girls and I began a whole new adventure in Kansas. Building a new life. 

I had no idea what was ahead of me as I descended that mountain, but every bit of pain has brought me to this place, and this place is where I’m meant to be right now. This year has taught me that life is far more heartbreaking than I could ever imagine, and also far more beautiful than I could ever dream.
