If You Knew Then...

If you knew then, what you know now, would you have done it any different? Would you still board that plane? Still make that move? Still take that leap?

Four years ago we boarded a plane for the adventure of a lifetime. Little did I know how much it would impact the entire trajectory of their lives and their family. 

And yet, knowing now how it all would play out, would we not have done it exactly the same? Would I have protected them from the pain, even though it might turn into a gift of strength? Would I have prevented the trauma that would prove resilience? I certainly would have sheltered them from it all, and I’m not sure that would have made them the women they are becoming.

Something died today. Something was born today. Healing has come in unexplainable ways. Tomorrow we’ll give thanks.
